Jul 24 - William Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls a resident of Chase County
for 79 years was found dead near his home.

Jul 31 - Lt. (J.g.) Wayne R. Rice, 26, of the Toledo community was killed in a plane crash in Hawaii.

Mrs Harold Iliff of Strong City dies unexpectedly after suffering a stroke.
Aug 14 - Charles Kohls, 83, Elk resident nearly 50 years, has passed away.

Oct 9 - Mrs Enos Shaft who had lived many years at Clements has passed away.
The new lights at the athletic field at Strong City are inaugurated.
Mr. & Mrs Harold Trayer have a baby boy, Jeffrey Alan.
The B. B. Rufeners hail 60 years of wedded life and the Elmore Stouts hail their silver wedding anniversary.
