     Jun 30 1965 - Miss Mary Ann Rogler, 29, passed away at her home near Matfield Green.


     Mr. & Mrs Keith Huth have a baby son, named William George. Adopt grassroots proposals for a Prairie Parkway.


     Ira Naylor of Matfield Green died in the Santa Fe Hospital at age 68.


     Ephraim Pinkston of Cedar Point observes his 95th. birthday.


     Jul 7 - Russell Lind, 54, dies at his home unexpectedly. Albert Nurnberg passes away.


     Jul 14 - Cottonwood Falls Babe Ruth team is winner in the Cottonwood Valley League.


     Ida May Vinson was featured as Woman of the week in the Emporia Gazette.


     Mr. & Mrs Tom Burton of Matfield Green have a new daughter, Teresa Lynn, and Mr. & Mrs Gary Peterson of Bazaar, a son, Randal Alan.


     Jul 28 - Clifford Shaft, of Cedar Point, and Mrs Arthur Wilson, have passed away.


     Aug 4 - Local petition asks city council to study possible swimming pool for Cottonwood Falls.


     Let Silver Creek watershed bid. Work to start in 30 days.


     Aug 11 - Ira Laney, 55, of Strong City is taken in death.


     City Council votes to begin studies on cost and location of a local swimming pool.


     Mr. & Mrs Arch Garrison of Cottonwood Falls hail their golden wedding anniversary.


     Aug 18 - Elmore Stout to head rodeo association.


     Miss Mary Elizabeth Bledsoe and Richard Wayne Maresh are wed.


     Aug 25 - Mr. & Mrs Lawrence Osgood, of Cedar Point, have a new daughter, Regina Rae, and Mr. & Mrs Fidel Ybarra, Bazaar, a son, Nicholas Phillip.


     Ken Talkington, of Matfield Green passed his Masters Barber exam given in Wichita.


     Sep 1- The Rockne memorial will be dedicated at the Matfield Green turnpike service area.


     The Valley Foods, Inc., moves to their new building at the east edge of this city.


     Sep 8 - Mrs Donald Lawrence, 23, of Strong City died unexpectedly. Surviving her is her husband and son, Timothy Curtis, of the home.


     Also Miss Nellie Duehn of Clements is taken in death.


     Sep 15 - Charles L. Ireland is named Superintendent of Unified School District No. 284 of Chase County.


     Knute Rockne’s sons, Knute Jr. and John are in Chase County for the memorial dedication of the new monument at the Matfield Green Service area on the Kansas turnpike.


     The Floyd Gardners hail their 60 years of wedded life.
