     Sep 22 1965 - Wayne Keller is the new Legion Commander.


     Mr. & Mrs Charles P. Caress of Cottonwood Falls observe their 60th wedding anniversary. They have lived their entire married life in Chase County.


     Sep 29 - Capt. Marvin R. Link of Cedar Point, flew a combat mission against Viet Cong encampment.


     Strong City High School district will vote on a 300 student structure.


     Oct 6 - The stone structure of the Municipal Building was cleaned and waterproofed. Mayor Dieker stated the total cost was $520.00.


     The swimming pool issue was approved by Cottonwood voters.


     Sep 13 - Elaine Matile is chosen as the local PEA sweetheart. Mrs Paul Bell and Mrs Joe Ewert are taken in death.


     S. P. “Sy” Fisher, well known Cedar Point resident dies in a shattering highway crash on US 50 west of Elmdale.


     Oct 20 - Order issued restraining Strong City school board from action.


     A total of 1,174 acres of pasture of the Estate of the Badger Brothers sells for $109,000.


     Prominent local resident Carl B. Cowley, 83, has died. Also Robert L. Merritt, and Mrs J. T. Graham.


     Closing of the Santa Fe depot in Cottonwood Falls will result in no decline of service to town.


     Strong City Board enjoined from holding bond election by Judge Sullivan in hearing.


     The Elmdale post office is scheduled to be moved into the new building.


     The first issue of the “Chase Echo”, is out and being published monthly by the Echo Club at the Chase County High School.


     Nov 3 - Open house draws many after the remodeling on the Exchange National Bank at Cottonwood Falls.


     Nov 10 - Wm. A. Stone, farmer and carpenter and a lifelong resident of Toledo has died.


     Levi Chandler rites are held at the Bazaar cemetery and Charles H. Jacobs passes away.


     Nov 17 - The 100th anniversary of the Cedar Point Methodist church will he held soon.


     Mr. & Mrs T. C. Crawford will hail their golden wedding anniversary with an open house.


     Nov 24 - Mrs S. C. Vinson of Cedar Point dies suddenly.


     The old stone arch bridge four miles east of Cottonwood Falls will be replaced with a new one.


     Dec 8 - Mrs Amos Frey a longtime resident of Strong City formerly operated a cafe there has passed away.


     Chase County’s oldest bank - The Strong City State Bank will be moving to a totally modern building.


     Dec 15 - Elmdale votes to operate high school next term.


     Mrs Otto Triemer and Harry Counseller have passed away.
