     Mar 1 1967 - Deaths; Mrs J. B. McCabe and Carl "Burly" Bray.


     A new business "The Uptown Beauty Shop” is opened in Cottonwood Falls by Linda Pinkston.


     Mar 5- Mrs John (Elsie) Sharp local Scout Leader was featured as Women of the Week in the Emporia Gazette.


     Mar 22 - Vote to close two high schools of Elmdale and Matfield Green. They will be closed at the end of the 1966-67 term.


     Apr 13 - Deaths: M. H. Heckendorn, and Mrs J. H. Blatchford.


     The Prairie Parkway bill is approved.


     Apr 19 - Mrs Paul Cartter, 86, passes away at her home.


     Richard Patton, Vocational Agriculture instructor here the last 13 years is retiring at the end of the current term.


     May 10 - Chase County population remains stable with slight gain indicted.


     Sign along the route of the Prairie Parkway will be erected in early summer.


     May 17 - Deaths: Carl B. Beyer, & Charlene Stahl.


     May 31- Two local girls are contestants for the title of Miss Rodeo Kansas, Peggy Talkington and Arlene Wheat.


     Jun 7 - Patricia Britain and John LeMay nuptials are read in the Bazaar church.


     Jun 14 - Deaths: Howel H. Jones, of Cedar Point and Mrs Gene Laney, 19 years of age.


     Jun 21 - The DeWitt Radio and TV sells to George Blount and Ivan Cooper.


     Beverly Bennett and Larry Scott are wed.


     After July 1st. motorcyle riders must wear helments.


     Jul 5 - Ross McPhail, of Strong City, a retired employee of the Santa Fe Railroad died at his home.


     Mary Helen Symes and Thomas Bell are wed at the First Presbyterian church at Cottonwood Falls.


     Jul 2 - Cedar Point resident, Mrs Levi Pinkston has passed away.


     Kris Giese and Elaine Matile have qualified to compete in the National High School finals in Elko, Nevada in August.


     Miss Helen Collene Blackmore and Gerald Roy Slabaugh are wed.


     Jul 19 - Mrs George Starkey, 89, died at her home in Cottonwood Falls.


     Jul 26 - A strong “yes” vote for forming South Fork Watershed District.


     Deaths: Joe Maloney and Samuel B. Goad.


     Aug 2 - Rodeo shows a profit this year.


     Sailboat built by Newton Sayre proves seaworthy on ocean trip.


     Aug 16 - Cottonwood little leaguers are league and tourney champions.


     Bell Telephone in county to convert to all number calling.


     Aug 30 - Mrs Burley (Marguerite) Starks a former area resident dies.


     Roberts and Emil Mushrush are wed. Also Beverly Masoner and Roger Potter.
