     1967-1968


     Sep 6 1967 - Regina Osgood, two-year-old daughter of Mr. & Mrs Lawrence Osgood has died.


     Sep 20 - Deaths: Leroy M, Giger and George Geissert.


     Carol Jean Garr and Robert Wayne Fillmore are married at the First Baptist church in Cottonwood Falls.


     Sep 27 - Signs go up after Prairie Parkway dedication with Chase County Courthouse as backdrop.


     Oct 4 - Girl Scout fund drive is underway.


     September was warm with record rainfall.


     After 31 years of school bus driving, Paul Riggs of Cedar Point has retired.


     Oct 11 - Lee McCabe, 85, of Elmdale, a lifetime resident of Chase Co. has died.


     Mrs George (Juanita) Gibb became County Treasurer. She takes the place of Mrs 0. W. Parks.


     Santa Fe move to drop four passenger and mail trains operating through Strong City.


     1 - Chase County is having a colorful autumn with warm days.


     The Lawrence Daub home at Strong City is destroyed by flash fire.


     Lottie Jones is found dead in her home in Cottonwood Falls.


     Nov 15 - Deaths: Fred L. Judd, of Strong City and Mrs Wm. Bechelmayr of Elmdale.


     Final report on the Dec. 4th fire in the courthouse cost. Darwin Reyer, County Clerk said the total repair cost was $21,513.


     Cheryl Crofoot and Thomas Pinkston are wed.


     Nov 29 - Old highway 50 is being re-sealed by the county road crews.


     Dec 6 - The annual 4-H Achievement banquet sponsored by the Cottonwood Falls Chamber of Commerce was held at the Masonic Temple.


     Deaths: Mrs W. K. Kline of Elmdale, Mrs W. K. Myers and R. H. (Rinnie) Meierhoff.


     Dec 18 - Mr. & Mrs Wm. B. Selves will hail their Golden anniversary on Dec. 24th.


     Dec 20 - The retaining wall of native limestone surrounding the front courthouse yard received a much-needed face lifting.


     Dec 27 - The Indians of Strong City High kept their round ball slate clean by coming from behind to beat Hamilton by two points 59 - 57 in a road game. Scoring leader for the winners was Ace Schroer with 31 points.


     Jan 3 1968 - Real winter in December, degree average 45.


     Postal rates to increase.


     Jan 10 - Mrs D. K. Cartter, 96, of Cottonwood Falls has passed away.


     Social Security Benefit increases for persons now on the roles.


     Jan 17 - 1968 - Prominent Elmdale farmer, Paul B. Wood, dies suddenly, also Mrs W. B. Goad of Cottonwood Falls.
