Jun 19 - Joe Bell will be going to Japan, as a member of the International Lions Band. Joe has been playing the trumpet for eight years.
The Harry Lutt rites are held at Cedar Point.
Jun 26 - Well known local resident Earl Miser, 82, passes away.
Alice VanSickle retired as postmaster of the Cedar Point postoffice after 43 years of public service.
Jane Mott & Douglas Peck are wed.
Jul 3 - Violent thunderstorms result in rampaging flash flooding on creeks and river spilling over lowlands.

Mr. & Mrs Wm. J. Pherigo, rural Cottonwood Falls will be honored on their 40th. wedding anniversary.

A public farm auction will be held to sell the items of the Arch Miller Estate.
Aug 21 - Mrs S. J. Cahoone, 77, a former teacher of Chase County and longtime resident since 1900 has passed away and Mrs. Charles Remy also has died.
Aug 28 - Some of the teachers for the 1969-70 term at the Cottonwood Falls Grade School are: Mary Jo Cauthorn, Helen Chapman, Danny Godfrey, Mary Ellen Phipps, Jerry Pittman, Eleanor Simmons, and Irene P. Soyez.
Debra Joanne Dieker & John Paul Haglund are wed in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Strong City.
Mr. & Mrs Roy Beedle will hail their golden wedding anniversary.
Sep 4 - Mr. & Mrs Harvey Dahlberg closed the deal for the purchase of the lumber yard in Cottonwood Falls. Mr. Dahlberg has been the manager for the last 31 years. Mr. & Mrs John Beck have a one-half interest.
