     The singers of Cottonwood Falls are rehearsing every night, "Patience," one of Gilbert & Sullivan's most popular productions, which will be presented in Music Hall.

     Sept. 19, 1901 -- Bessie Wood left to attend the State University at Lawrence.

     Chase is the 5th county in the state in alfalfa acreage. In 1891 the acreage was 1,401. This year it is 10,390.
