     Sep 26 1974 - The restored Fox Creek School is entered on the National Register of Historic places.


     The Chase County High marching band has a membership of 44.


     Oct 3 - Pollsters would leave landscaping of the courthouse lawn as is voting resulted in 52 votes “For” 148 votes “No” 16 votes for “Using Part of the Plan.”


     Oct 17 - The landmark Bazaar stockyards is being razed; a victim of changing times in progress.


     Disposal program went into effect in Cottonwood Falls and Strong City.


     New teachers in USD-284, Mrs Wayne (Ruth) Childs and Mrs Lee (Janet) Ayers.


     Dec 12 - The cowboy trail signs are up.


     Mr. & Mrs L. E. Croy to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.


     Dec 26 - Glenn J. Zieber of Strong City is retiring after 42 years of service with State Highway Dept. He has been replaced by William (Bill) Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls. Mr. Fillmore, 26, has been employed by the State Highway Commission about nine years.


     Jan 2 1975 - New law requires car tags for front and rear.


     Progress is being made on the new 23 bed addition at the Chase County Nursing Center in Cottonwood Falls.


     Henry Boese of Elmdale & Newton Sayre of Cottonwood Falls have passed away.


     Jan 30 - Centenarion Mrs Charles M. Gregory of Cottonwood Falls was taken in death.


     Feb 6 - Mr. & Mrs Ray Crofoot observe their golden wedding anniversary.


     Feb 20 - Chase Countains were among the six-member band that played for the Heart Benefit Dance in the Municipal Building at Cottonwood Falls. They were: Trent, Todd & Troy Crissup, and Bennie Holtsclaw, all of Cedar Point.


     Feb 27 - George Blount is the new fire chief of the Cottonwood Falls Dept.


     Chase County Middle school holds open house.


     Mar 20 - Deaths: C. R. Overstreet & Mrs Roy Jackson, both of Strong City.


     Kay Ellen Luder and Edward R. Koger are wed.


     Rachel Sayre Rees is retiring from teaching after a 21- year tenure.


     Mar 27 - A mini-bus is proposed for the use of Senior Citizens.


     Lori Buffington, seventh grade student of the Chase County Middle School is the Chase County spelling champ.


     Apr 10 - A decision was made at the Cottonwood Falls Council meeting to change all street lights to mercury vapor as the older type will be costly to operate.


     Grassroots Association continues to fight tallgrass prairie park.


     Elmdale Sign southeast of town on the hill, gets a new coat of paint.


     Clifford Bastin former elevator manager passes away.


     Apr 24 - Deaths: Mrs Paul Trayer, Mrs John W. Storey, Clifford G. Tefft, & Mrs D. L. Crawford.
