Nov 13 1980 - Chase County Sheriff Ray Lutt has resigned.
Dec 4 - Price tag for new water system at Cottonwood Falls is pegged at over 1 million dollars.
Dec 11 - Winter hits area with ice and snow.
Mrs Wm. B. (Emily) Selves a lifetime resident of Chase County passes away.
Dec 25 - The old theatre building & pool hall south of the theatre will be torn down at Cottonwood Falls.
Jan 8 1981 - 1980 was one of the driest years here ever.
Jan 15 - Showing of Chase countain Julia Breese life story is set to be shown at St. Anthony’s Hall in Strong City.
Jan 28 - Abraham Lincoln approved the patent on the John Stout farm land homesteaded in what is now Chase County.
Feb 19 - The Quik Shop on US highway 50 has been opened for business.
Mar 5 - Mr. & Mrs Martin Deering and Mr. & Mrs Austin Johnson celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.
Mar 12 - 9 wild turkeys were released in Chase County by the Fish & Game Commission.

May 14 - Barbara J. Crichton & Mark Davis are united in marriage.
May 21 - Mr. & Mrs John Lansbury have a fine boy, Brian Randall; and Mr. & Mrs Joseph Bell have a daughter, Emma Rose.
Jun 4 - The Dean Schroers celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
Jun 11 - The Chase County State Lake is stocked with about 10,000 fingerling walleye.
Jun 18 - Jane Galbraith Bell graduated from Newman Hospital School of Nursing.
Jul 9 - Cynthia Lynn Evans married Wendell Ray Cooper in the St. Anthony’s church.
Jul 16 - Jimmie L. Browning, M. D. will be operning a family medical practice in Cottonwood Falls on Aug. 3rd.
Jul 30 - The “Singing Rancher from Cedar Point” has his third album in the works.

Aug 27 - The Chase County Historical Society Museum will open Sept. 1st. Katheryn Littler will be the attendant.
