     Nov. 7, 1901 -- Blackshere Bros., have purchased a steam power hay press, the first in this part of the state.

     Ed Brandley & Gid Finley have both bought engraving machines for there stores.

     Nov. 14, 1901 -- Three escaped convicts from Leavenworth, were reported in the hills south of Clement. Sheriff Beach and possee left for that locality this AM. Captured later near the head of Rock creek.

     Tne reading room has opened, made very attractive with lace curtains, pictures & flowers, and every magazine published is to be found on the tables.
