May 17 1990 - Long delayed county appraisal notices may be out this week.
Chase County Middle School captures 10th straight league track title.
May 24 - Cottonwood Falls and Strong City vote $8,000 for “Main Street.”
Jun 7 - Frances Olson seeking second term as County Commissioner from district 1.
Camp Wood will be holding a 75th anniversary party.
Jun 21 - Seventy-one percent of Chase County High seniors see no future in remaining in Chase County.
Norma Redick was honored for her 20 years of service at the Chase County Nursing Center.
Betty & Whitt Laughridge celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
Jul 5 - Chase County selected for Kansas Main Street Program. Elmdale will be their project.
Jul 12 - Chase County to lose only full time physician, Dr. Divinder Kumar.
Aug 2 - The 70th Chase County Fair opens for four days.
Aug 9 - Olson edges McNee to win second term as County Commissioner.
Workmen began putting down the new gym floor at the Chase County High School. Cost just under $40,000.
Deaths: Georgia Z. Osman, 95 retired Cedar Point school cook and Robert A. Archer, 62, retired Santa Fe Railway foreman.
Jeff and Sharon Harshman rural Cedar Point are the parents of a boy, Trenton Brice.
Sep 6 - Chase County population nosedives in 1990 census. Preliminary figures show a lose of 286 residents since 1980.
After half a century the Heckendorn Manufacturing Plant at Cedar Point will close.
Cedar Point Methodist church will celebrate 125th anniversary.
Sep 27 - A Santa Fe Railroad Caboose #248 has a permanent home in Strong City adjacent to the Chase County Bank.
Oct 4 - Matfield Green loses 53% of it’s residents during the past 10 years.
Oct 11 - Historic Clover Cliff Ranch burns. Pre-Civil War landmark can be saved thanks to the firemen’s quick efforts.
Oct 25 - Columbia Savings office closing here in Cottonwood Falls.
Nov 1 - The Chase County High Bulldog team faces Holsington in sub-state.
Some of the single track of line was ripped up between Strong City and Cottonwood Falls.
Nov 8 - The Bulldogs reach the State’s final four. Advanced farther than any team in the school’s 87 year history.
Theresa L. Swift begins U. S. Air Force Basic training in San Antonio, Texas.
Deaths: Gerald M. Remy, 81 Chase County native and rancher and Lettie L. Frey, 96, retired homemaker, and also a Chase County native.
Nov 15 - Bulldogs stop Leoti 13-12, to reach the championship.
