     Mar 21 1991 - The 60th anniversary of the Knute Rockne crash will be observed with trips to the crash site. Rockne’s only daughter will be on hand.


     Apr 4 - 400 customers protest Chase gas rate hike.


     Apr 18 - The Strong City United Methodist church will celebrate 100 years of Methodism.


     Deaths: Bert E. Dawson, 89 and a farmer, Frank S. Frey, 93, a lifelong Chase County resident and rancher.


     4-25- Holly Ann Haglund and K. Todd Robert exchange wedding vows.


     May 2 - Annual Flint Hills Bluegrass Music Festival to he held at Camp Wood.


     Sisters, Helen Dull & Leola Evans, volunteers at the Chase County Nursing Center earns the Community Volunteers of year" award for the state of Kansas.


     May 9 - County votes to build $1 million, 32 bed jail.


     Donna Giller & Charles Pretzer exchange wedding vows.


     May 23 - The Chase County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) headquarters at Main & Broadway with a joint effort by the Twin Cities Main Street Association and The Chase County Board of Commissioners has undergone a dramatic facelift.


     May 30 - Mark Davis receives water system operator certification for Strong City.


     Bulldog tracksters finish 15th in state.


     Without stronger community support the Uptown theatre in Strong City days are likely numbered.


     Jun 27 - Local cowboys saddle up for the 4th annual ranch rodeo on Independence Day.


     Jul 18 - Kahola lake road gets top priority for improvement. Middle Creek road proposal shelved.


     Robin & Becki Roberts, are the parents of a son Kristopher Bradley.


     Leona Hyle Wells, teacher of Elmdale, 90 years of age, has passed away.


     Jul 25 - Main street board meeting turns into a shouting match.


     Aug 1 - Businessman, former community activist and volunteer are only a few roles Stanley North of the Saffordville Community has filled in his life. Age 83 years, Stanley was honored by the community and inducted into the Agriculture Hall of Fame.


     Strong City won’t annex the rodeo grounds.


     Aug 8 - The 103 year old Cottonwood Falls creamery located on north Broadway is being renovated by National Farms.


     Sep 19 - Chase County Gas Co. files for bankruptcy.


     Wm. & Verla Burton of Matfield Green were honored on their 60th wedding anniversary.


     Sep 26 - County breaks ground on new $1 million jail.
