     Oct 3 1991 - More than 200 friends, family & well-wishers turned out to to give former postmaster Blanche Schwilling a warm 90th birthday celebration at the Bazaar School House.


     Oct 10 - The People’s Exchange Bank will observe its centennial soon.


     Oct 17 - Chase County is under the literary microscope, a celebration of “Prairy Erth” author book signing & many other activities are planned.


     Oct 24 - Attend the Bazaar Church supper and auction, hosted by the Bazaar Ladies Aid.


     Oct 31 - Strong citians approve a $250,000 water bond.


     Nov 7 - Sandra Nichols of Cottonwood Falls has been named Harder’s Market Manager.


     Nov 14 - The Chase County High School is getting ready for Sat. night’s Jr.-Sr. play “Gentlemen Prefer Blonds."


     Helen Green & Howard Johnson are wed.


     Nov 21 - Strong City Grade School marks it’s 50th year and will have a celebration.


     Nov 28 - American wild turkeys make a dramatic comeback.


     Dec 12 - Flu outbreak hits Chase County.


     School board okays KGA use of school facilities but had denied the National Park Service’s request earlier. The issue to be the Flint Hills National Monument.


     Dec 19 - The Chase County Leader-News publishes a special Christmas holiday edition.


     Jan 2 1992 - Deaths: Edna Rettiger, Thomas E. McCabe & Ruth Link.


     Jan 16 - Falls chapter of Eastern Star marks it’s 110th year of service and history.


     County driver’s license office will reopen.


     Red hot Bulldogs blister Bluestem 93—40.


     Jan 30 - Cedar Point Bank tenders offer to buy, merge with Chase County Bank.


     Feb 6 - Cottonwood Falls and Strong City Councils endorse Unified County Law Enforcement.


     Feb 13 - Candi Bell was crowned Chase County High - 1992 “Queen of Courts”, escorted by Alex Beyer.


     Feb 20 - Deaths: Edward Tinkham Baker, 90, and Howel Corbet “Bud" Jones, 77, both were retired ranchers.


     Mar 5 - Gary Bruce, Mayor of Strong City resigns.


     Mar 12 - The ladies are champs, that is the Chase County High School girls reach state after stunning sub-state truimph.


     The Bulldogs return trip to state falls one victory short.


     Mar 19 - Wells, Yeager vote for 1.6 million Diamond Creek project.


     Apr 2 - Mr. & Mrs Geo. Stephenson will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.


     Deaths: Edward W. Fillmore, retired county highway employee and Agnes W. Hensley, Strong City native, and homemaker.


     Apr 9 - The Chase County Leader-News was named the state’s third best newspaper, among mid-sized weekly's.
