     Nov. 28, 1901 -- A. M. Conaway's new home and Allen's new feed store in Saffordville are nearing completion.

     Dec, 5, 1901 -- Fredrick L. Drinkwater, formerly of Chase Co. and brother of 0. H. Drinkwater has died in Topeka, at the age of 54.

     A new boy at the home of J. Watchous. Also a new baby boy took Thanksgiving dinner at Bill Brace's.

     L. Franz has sold his feed store in Strong City to Charley Drawbaugh.

     The first 50 books of the Circulating Library have been secured and will be issued soon.

     Scott & Frank Denison are building a round house of two stalls on the Lantry place for the Lantry locomotives.

     The Ladies Guild meeting will be held at the home of Mrs John Sanders.

     Dec. 12, 1901 -- Roy Hawkins, son of Richard & Anna Hawkins of Clements, has died from apendicitis, at the young age of 16.

     Miss Mitta Moon of Clements, became a member of Ruth Lodge 117, Daughter of Rebekah.

     The seats for the Kiltie concert tomorrow night are about all sold. There are a few good seats to be had yet for the afternoon concert.

     Dec. 19, 1901 -- Tom Lawless, of Strong City, was killed by being struck by a freight train. The body was buried on the old Lawless homestead on Diamond creek.

     Born, to Mr. & Mrs F. F. Deering, of Homestead, a nine pound girl. A daughter is born to Mr. & Mrs Bert Place of Wonsevu.

     Forty-one persons were admitted to membership in the M. E. church, on probation.

     James M. Miller & Grace M. Lister, both of South Fork, were married by Rev. Barrier, at high noon.

     Old streetcar No. 2 caught fire from an overheated stove and barely escaped complete destruction.

     The new street cars are now used when the travel requires extra service. New stoves have been ordered for the new cars.

     Shelva Goad moved in with Sam Slabaugh last week.

     Dec. 26, 1901 -- Forty-four persons were admitted for membership in the Presbyterian church.

     Cal Pendergraft is now engaged in the fur business. He buys hides and ships them.

     N. R. Norton of Dunlap & Maggie E. Moody of Elba were married, Walter Jackson of Dunlap & Gertrude Burks of Strong City, wed.

     Claude Shaft is attending military school in Salina.
