     Nov 2 1999 - Russell & Norma Schwilling will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.


     Darrell W. Spence, 82, a retired rancher and farmer, has passed away. He married Laura Mae McCabe in 1940.


     Dec 9 - City of Cottonwood Falls can’t afford suggested fire truck.


     Deaths: Mary F. (Long) Overstreet has passed away, she was employed at The Peoples Exchange Bank in Elmdale from 1955 until she retired in 1980. She also helped her husband "J. T." in his insurance business.


     Lifetime Chase Co. resident Lawrence D. Daub, 78, also passed away.


     Dec 16 - Doug Jackson of Doug’s Flowers & Gifts in Strong City will be going to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California to work on the floats that will grace this year’s parade.


     Strong City is granted a $400,000 sewer grant.

     Dec 23 - The Cottonwood Falls City Council backs away from a new swimming pool.
