     Jan. 16, 1902 -- S. E. Yoeman, who has been hunting the whereabouts of the old Meeker printing press, the first brought to Ks., thinks he has found it at the Elmdale Reporter office.

     Jan. 23, 1902 -- The price of diamonds is going up. That is bad news for the country preacher & printers.

     Beanblossom has sold his hardware & lumber business in Strong City to Chas. Robinson & Louis Franz.

     Fred Imm & daughter leave tomorrow on a 2 month visit to his old home in Germany.

     Fred R. Hemmant, age 26 died at Halstead. He used to be the telegraph operator Saffordville.

     The Emmet Club met in the parlor of the Ryan Bros. Hotel, Strong City, elected for ensuring year are; President, Matt McDonald, Vice Presidents, W. A. Morgan, Jas. O'Reily, W. P. Rettiger, Secretary, W. J. Martin , Treas. Joe Costello.

     Joseph G. Faris, died. The deceased was born in Kentucky and married Sarah Hammond. She died and he then married Mary Vannoy. He was the father of 16 children. Twelve survive.

     John S. Lawrence & Myrtle Burcham, both of this city, are married.

     Jan. 30, 1902 -- S. R. Sayre is holding revival meetings at the Sauble school house.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs Shelva Goad, a big baby boy.

     Mr. Chas. Yeager is comtemplating buying Wm. Judd's place.

     Hilton & Williams of Strong City have sold their grocery stock to Fred Scharpf.

     A. T. Newkirk a former resident of Chase Co. in Falls township, died at his home in Mo.

     Its a boy and weighs 12 pounds and that's what makes Will Austin of Strong City, look so joyful.

     The mercury dropped 43 degrees in a few hours. The thermometer indicated 10 degrees below zero by Monday morning.

     An old soldiers reunion was held by Arnold Brandley. Brandley had served in the 23 Kentucky, over 3 years.

     Lantry Bros. have received three new steam shovels. Each of them can do the work of 50 men.

     Feb. 6, 1902 -- The first district congressional district convention will be held Feb. 26th.

     The Elmdale schools began again, after being closed 2 weeks on account of measles.

     M. C. Newton was acting as County Clerk for a few days, while Waddell was putting up ice.
