     May 1, 1902 -- Mr. & Mrs J. J. Holmes of Clements are moving to Kansas City.

     May 8, 1902 -- Superintendent of Pound in Cottonwood Falls is Doug Raymer.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs D. J. White, near Clements, a son. A daughter to Mr. & Mrs Henry Zimmerman, Strong City.

     Mrs Frank Young died at her home on the Lee ranch.

     Fred Imm (Prince Henry of Strong City) returned from his visit to Germany.

     The Cedar Point school has one of the best libraries in the county.

     The Methodists have sold the parsonage to John Patterson and will build a new one on their lots north of the church.

     L. W. Becker, Adm. of J. A. Schwilling, deceased, made annual settlement.

     May 15, 1902 -- Geo. W. Crouthers died after a long & painful illness.

     Prairie Grove Cemetery is in sad shape At a special meeting held to raise money for clean-up and repairs, no second could be found on the motion.

     County Clerk Waddell has moved his family back to the farm.

     The church building at Hymer is being pushed as fast as possible. The building is now under roof.

     Otto Piper, living between Cottonwood & Middle creek brought 8 live wolves, as large as young cats, to the county clerk and demanded the bounty. The clerk explained he only wanted the scalps not the live wolves. Otto soon went off with his 8 dollars.

     John A. Crook, a Civil war veteran died at the age of 67 at Saffordville. The remains were interred at the Hillside Cenetery at Toledo under auspices of the G.A.R.

     May 22, 1902 - Born to Mr. & Mrs H. C. Case of the Falls, a 9 1b. son.

     Death took from Austin & Lee Crawford, their oldest child, Cloe, age 6.

     Art Kuhl,Cottonwood Falls & Stella Middleswort, of Galva, suprised everyone by their marriage. E. W. Ellis married Miss 0. E. Clay of Topeka.

     Chase Co. will furnish 2 of the conductors for the Lyon Co. Normal Institute, L. A. Lowther & B. F. Martin.

     W. B. Hilton is attending the K. P. Grand Lodge as delegate in Wichita.

     June 5, 1902 -- Ed Norton has been appointed Deputy Postmaster & Miss Minnie Norton as bookkeeper.
