     W. F. Rockwood was elected an Elder of the Presbyterian church.

     A Fall Festival will be held sometime in Oct.

     July 17, 1902 -- Flax harvest is in full swing in the Homestead vicinity and the crop is better than it has been for the past 2 years.

     Marie Marden has been employed to teach the intermediate department in Elmdale.

     An effort is being made to organize another Boy's Band, numbering about 20. Arrangements are already made for the teacher.

     Walter West, of the Falls and Rose Daub of Strong City were married at Newton; Henry J. Bastin of Matfield and Etta Childs of the Falls are wed.

     G. W. Bruce was appointed the court house janitor at $1 per day.

     Mrs Zerelda Johnson Pratt died at her daughter's home, Mrs Pracht of Elk. She and her husband came to Chase Co. in 1860.

     July 24, 1902 -- The infant daughter of Mr. & Mrs Geo. W. McClellan of Bazaar, aged 9 months has died.

     Sam'1 Comstock sold 1,200 bushel of wheat at Kansas City. Fetted him 62 cents per bushel.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs C. H. Bickel a 10 lb. son.

     July 31, 1902 -- There will be a Sunday School picnic in Wm. Mann's grove, near the stone bridge, on South Fork.

     Attention is called to the announcement of T. M. Gruwell & Henry Weaver for the office of Probate Judge.

     Guy P. Speers & Clara Springer both of Cottonwood Falls were issued a marriage license.

     J. M. Yoakem says he has radishes that measure 21 inches in circumference, how is that for upland and drouthy Kansas.

     Married at St. Anthony's church by Father Sklenar, John S. Haley & Clara Rettiger of Strong City. They will reside in Warrensburg, Mo. C. H. Kennison & Ida M. Cummins, both of Elmdale.
