     Mar. 5, 1903 -- Last Sabbath was made sad for many friends by the death of Mrs Hannah M. Johnston, wife of R. B. Johnston.

     Hugh, the 3 year old son of Mr. & Mrs Joe Crawford of Wonsevu has passed away.

     Miss Amy Crawford daughter of Mr. & Mrs John Crawford of Clements was married to Andrew Lombell by Rev. Williams.

     The Leader-News has been sold by W. A. Morgan to W. C. Austin. Mr. Morgan has been at the helm for 32 years.

     S. N. Richards of Strong City has purchased the old creamery building.

     Miss Ora Richards died at her home near Strong City. She was the daughter Of Mr. & Mrs A. T. Richards.

     Henry ImMasche has purchased the east half of the old Prather place, near Saffordville and will build upon it a large modern house.

     A. R. Gottbehuet has been appointed as City Marshal to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Thorn Brandley, who will till the soil.

     Mar. 12, 1903 -- Cemetery improvements will be made on the Prairie Grove Cemetery thanks to the City Federation of Women's Clubs. As $273.10 has been raised for the project.

     The male quartette composed of Messr. Replogle, Trowbridge, Smith & Martin will sing at the missionary meeting at the Presbyterian church.

     Will Wood is 50 years old now.

     Edna Allen, teacher at Bloody creek held an old fashioned spelling school.

     Mar. 19, 1903 -- Mrs Jane Hermann Shofe, mother of ten children has died. She married John Shofe in 1847.

     W. C. Orrill resigned his place in the Strong City schools & has gone to breaking on the railroad.

     Mr. Con Harvey has severed his connection with the office of Clerk of the Court.

     School has closed at Wonsevu on account of diptheria.

     Tom Barker has returned from Cassoday and resumed his old place in the blacksmith in Matfield.

     Marriage license was issued to W. Stanbrough of Strong City & Alta J. Varner of Plymouth.

     Sam Roberts is the proud father of a boy.

     Mar. 26 -- The 20 month old child of Geo. Barber's of Saffordville was poision from eating oyster soup and died.

     Gus Link & Anna Studer were married.

     Mrs Imbla Young, an old resident of Cedar Township was buried at the Cedar creek buring ground.

     J. E. Gibb is secretary of the 101 ranch at Hymer.

     Quite a blizzard struck this place on Sunday.

     Letha Leaphule just closed a very successful term of school at Forest Hill.

     April 2, 1903 -- Alvin Taggart died at the home of Austin Crawford age 73 at and was a member of the Elmdale G.A.R. being its Chaplin.
