     April 2, 1903 -- C. F. Spurgen of Strong City celebrated the 30th. anniversary of his service with the Santa Fe.

     Rev. Thomas Lidzy who for several years was pastor of the Methodist church has died at Lebo.

     Under the new law the city officers elected this year hold for 2 years.

     The Cedar Point Gun Club was organized recently.

     April 9, 1903 -- Alanson Salmons of Kingman & Berdie Palmer of this city were united in marriage.

     Hugh O'Donnell one of our early settlers died at the home of his niece Mary O'Donnell. He came to America in 1846 from Ireland.

     Resignation of J. W. Sayre as Constable of Cedar Township was accepted by the Commissioners.

     Births; Mr. & Mrs Geo. Stout, Mr. & Mrs Hary Starkey, and Mr. & Mrs Everett Wilson all girls.

     Walter Finks wife at Diamond Springs dies. She leaves a little son only a few days old.

     Sam Clay will have charge of the handling of stock at the Strong City stockyards.

     The program for the dedication of the Congregation church in Strong City in its new location will be held soon.

     April 16, 1903 -- Marshal Wm. Bradburn dropped his revolver in a scuffel and it went off, instantly killing him.

     Ordered by the Chase Co. Commissioners that a bounty of 10 cents on gopher scalps will be paid until Jan. 1, 1904.

     Born on Middle creek to Mr. & Mrs Frank Johnson a daughter.

     Grandpa Bringham, father-in-law of Chas. Johnson who was burned several weeks has died at the advanced age of 84.

     Aaron Parsons arrived in Clements and will put in a grocery store.

     April 23, 1903 -- Edward C. Holmes of Elmdale, formerly of Clements has died. He was a native of Cambridgshire, England and came to Chase Co. in 1859 and has since resided.

     W. W. Guthrie of Atchinson, father of T. F. Guthrie of Toledo Township died at his home. He was the first Attorney General of Ks.

     In the distribution of the state fireman's relief Strong City gets $14.53.

     County Supt. elect T. G. Allen closes his school at Vernon. This was his third term.

     The community of Wonsevu mourns the death of Miss Birdie Barnes, daughter of Mrs Geo. Fink. She was 23 years old and a popular teacher.
