     May 28, 1903 -- Grandma Jane Shaft of Clements died at the home of her daughter Mrs J. W. Cope. She was 82 years old.

     Geo. V. Fry & Iva L. Marrow of Elmdale & Adrian L. Cameron & Bessie Carnes are wed.

     The Cottonwood river is in most people's back yard in Saffordville.

     Jun. 4, 1903 -- Two young people of the Falls were joined for life, Charles Coe & Anna Morgan. Mr. & Mrs W. A. Morgan are the bride's parents.

     Wm T. Glanville of Saffordville & Sarah Austin are married.

     Mr. & Mrs W. A. Morgan announce their 2nd trip to Europe. They will be gone 5 months.

     The worst flood in history of Kansas has just been experienced.

     Mr. & Mrs Barney Rockhold are the parents of a girl.

     There is a band of Indians in the east part of town telling fortunes.

     June 11, 1903 -- Much damage is reported from the flood victims.

     Harader & Son will run a first class Dry Goods & Grocery Store, having bought out G. 0. Hunt & Co.

     Father Cunningham who is conducting the Mission at the Catholic church at Strong City is a fine pulpit orator.

     Chase Co. by an overwhelming vote accepts the Cottonwood Falls school building & agrees to maintain a county high school

     After 20 some years of barbering Geo. Newman has sold his shop to Frank Mailen.

     Mr. & Mrs Jas. Barker passed the 64th anniversary of their wedding. They have spent most of this time on the Barker farm, about a mile and a half north of Bazaar.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs Patton Mushrush at Matfield a son.

     The Pension examining board is composed of Drs. Hamme, Steel & Rich.

     June 25 -- W. H. Woolwine & Gertrude Stone are married. They will live in Saffordville, where Mr. Woolwine is a genial member of Woolwine Bros.

     John Lind has been attending school in Colorado Springs.

     J. 0. Wilson has accepted the position of principal of the Clements school.

     The Wonsevu mail carrier is Mr. Warren.

     Strong City school district #41 reelected W. C. Austin as Clerk.

     Pete Kuhl & family have left for their new home at Mulvane.
