     Sept. 17, 1903 -- Kezia Burnett, wife of Geo. H. Burnett has died.

     The Fish family of Strong City is holding a family reunion.

     B. F. Largent is building a large hotel at the Falls on the site of the old one which burned down a few years ago.

     Sept. 24 -- C. A. Carter of Strong City sold his drug store to Ray Stafford & B. F. Empie.

     Abraham Leach formerly of South Fork has died.

     Farmers complain of no decent hitching rack in the town of Cottonwood Falls.

     Children of J. S. Jones and Frank Weaver have passed away.

     G. W. Bruce has improved the looks of the court house by cleaning & varnishing the banisters & other woodwork.

     Oct. 1 -- Miss Clara Elizabeth Brandley & Charles R. Grose are wed.

     The sad death of three Chase County folks, John McCallum, Clara Rettiger, & S. A. Breese.

     Noah Patton will farm on the D. P. Shaft ranch next year.

     Matt McDonald attents the Old Soldier reunion at Council Grove.

     Oct. 8, -- Hallie Kellogg who was born in this city has died. His uncle is Frank Alford whom he lived with until about six years ago.

     Charles Shaft & Maude Gustin are married.

     Geo. McNee of Matfield shipped a load of sheep to market, which were raised on his farm. He says the sheep market is good.

     Maude Rogler is attending college at Lindsburg.

     First class dry salt bacon at 8 cents a pound at Hoffman's, Strong City.

     Oct. 15 -- Sam Evans & Ernest McKenzie has opened a first-class oyster parlor & restaurant just north of the Eureka Hotel.

     W. A. Wood checked out as County Treasurer and R. 0. Miner was checking in.

     W. S. R. Sager is getting ready to move to Idaho.

     The German school has began at Strong City.

     Emily Martin, age 73, living south of Bazaar has passed away.

     Marriages of Homer Evans & Nora Pendergraft both of South Fork & Mr. Blume & Mayme LaCross.

     Myrtle Varner is teaching at Plesant Valley.
