     Sept. 1, 1904 -- W. B. Peet and family moved from Clements to Cottonwood Falls last week.

     Sept. 8 -- Mrs E. D. Sullivan was severly burned when her clothing caught on fire and she died a few hours later.

     A. N. Holmberg of Strong City has just built a new barn at his residence.

     The Strong City schools opened Monday with an attendence of about 250.

     Jim Mailen and family have moved to Neva from the Falls.

     James OReilly is a student at St. Bendict's college at Atchinson, where he will graduate this term.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs A. A. Pearson of Strong City a daughter.

     The Lutherans will build a school house directly east of their church. Theo Fritze will do the work.

     Will Stubenhofer who is roadmaster, and the boss of the gang was seriously slashed with a knife or razor by one of the workers.

     Sept. 15 -- Mrs Laverna Hazel Yeager, wife of Frank Yeager died at the age of 29.

     The street car-barn is almost completed.

     The City schools will begin on September 26th.

     Miss Mamie Frey of Stribby creek will resume her studies at the Agricultural college of Manhattan.

     School began in the Highland district with Alda Byram as instructor.

     Mr. & Mrs Julius Frey of Stribby creek celebrated the 25th. anniversary of their wedding. The Middle Creek Band furnished excellent music for the occasion.

     Sept. 22 -- The Matfield Band gave a supper in the new Brandley building.

     The seven year old son of Charles Ward of Bazaar was drowned in South Fork.

     Paul Cartter is teaching the boys band at the Falls.

     Mayor Rettiger of Strong City has appointed Fred Willey, Marshall; Sam Clay resigned.

     Charles J. Schneider of this city was nominated for Senator of the 23 district by the Democratic and Populist conventions held at Strong City.

     Master Rufus and Miss Mattie Kirk of Bazaar left for Baldwin, where they will attend Baker University this winter.

     Mr. Hildinger has opened a dress-making parlor in the rooms recently vacated by Lizzie Collett, west of the Corner Grocery Store. Miss Kate Gross will be in charge.

     R. 0. Miner and A. J. Houghton were calling on East Buck Eye Sunday.

     A Son was born to Mr. & Mrs John Thomas of Canaan. Lois Dwelle is the teacher at Wonsevu this term.
