     Sept. 29, 1904 -- A gang of Italians are now working at the crusher at Strong City.


     About 30 ladies of the Falls have formed a bowling club and meet once a week at Leo Holz's bowling alley.


     Jas. Atkinson has sold his house and lots to Will LaCoss and has leased the Becker ranch south west of the Falls.


     His first term as principal of Elmdale is held by Leroy Giger.


     Oct. 6 -- Business changes - Messrs. Shaw and Harrison of Cedar Point have bought out the grocery store of Wm. Gulliford of the Falls.


     The Curant & Reveille was bought by Mr. E. F. Hobert of Salomon, Ks. from J. W. Coverdill.


     Rob't McCrum a good hotel man known to everyone in Chase County has bought the Bank Hotel equipment of Strong City.


     Harry C. Brown, Editor of the Elmdale Reporter, had the misfortune to be run over by a freight train in Strong City, and has a right leg mashed. The leg was taken off above the knee by Drs. Conaway, Hamme, Johnson with Hinden assisting in the operation.


     W. W. Harvey is sporting a new meat wagon. Ed Maloney is acting as chaffeur.


     Mr. P. P. Schriver has almost completed his elevator and flour house at Cedar Point.


     Oct. 13 -- F. A. Meckel who has made an envieable record as County Attorney in the Falls for the past four years has resigned. Dudley Doolittle was appointed in his place by Judge Madden.


     Mattie Sauble of Cedar Point and Marion Ford of Oklahoma are wed.


     Frank Laloge has moved his family to Strong City from Cedar Point.


     Ryan Bros. are connecting their hotel with the Santa Fe water works & sewage.


     W. B. Scribner of Bazaar, has purchased the Don Allen stock of general merchandise at Saffordville and expects to move there soon.


     Oct. 27 -- The Republican Rally was held in the Foster Grove near Elk.


     Alva Bogue of Elmdale was accidentally shot by Clyde Holmes while the two boys were playing with a revolver.


     Ryan Bros. have new gas lights in their hotel.


     Guy Lamer is attending the College of Emporia.


     Born to Mr. & Mrs Brice Hays of Bazaar, a girl.


     Mr. & Mrs 0. C. Richards of Clements a girl.


     Nov. 3 -- One cent a gallon will make your gasoline and coal oil perfectly safe. For sale at Ferlet and McDowell's.


     The infant daughter of Mr. & Mrs Sherman Tittle of Cedar Point has died.


     Lulu Evans came home from Salina where she has been attending the Kansas Wesleyan Business College.


     Robert P. Walter and Jennie Copeland both of Cottonwood Falls are married. Also Thomas M. Davenport & Mora Bullock, both of Strong City.


     The library has now arrived in Highland at the school house and is in charge of Miss Byram.
