     Feb. 16, 1905 -- G. B. Peters sells out and J. A. McCoy becomes the owner of the stock in the Peters Hardware Co.


     The infant child of H. S. Parks has died.


     Feb. 23 -- Valentine Becker died at the Becker Ranch, age 68. David Klotz who at one time owned the Evans livery stable in the Falls has died at Harford.


     T. G. Allen has completed a new school district map of Chase County.


     A son is born to Mr. & Mrs Tom Browning. Also to Mr. & Mrs John Mickeljerd.


     Feb. 28 -- Ernestina "Grandma" Hofmann, resident of Chase County since 1875; died at the home of her stepson C. H. Hofmann of Strong City.


     James Chambless has bought the Saffordville Telephone Exchange of H. H. Hanson for $1600.


     Mar. 3 -- The J. B. Albin's ninth child is born, a son.


     Gladys, the nine year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs Jesse Jones of Peyton creek passed away.


     Mar. 7-- Mrs Hegwer & son of Stribby creek are moving to California. Valentine Uhl and Kate Hensler both of Prairie Hill were united in marriage. They will make their home on Buck creek.


     We in Homestead are to have telephone connecting us with Clements.


     Mar. 10 -- Emily M. Prestage died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Chas. Philbrick, age 77 years.


     Born to Mr. & Mrs John Forrester of Matfield Green, a daughter.


     C. A. Coe has ordered a new cash register for his grocery store.


     Stella Wheeler & Bert Mccoy were married in Canaan.


     This is such changeable weather the farmers hardly know what to do.


     Dan Reyer sowed blue grass in the snow.


     Mar. 14 -- The Catholic church of Strong City has been presented with a statue of St. Joseph and the child Jesus. The statue was imported from Italy.


     Mar. 17 -- Harry Axford & Bettie Strong were married at the B. F. Howard home east of town, by Rev. Harry C. Coe.


     Louis Fink of Hymer & Lanetta Smith of near Cedar Point are wed.


     Mar. 21 -- Anna Reifsnyder, nine year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs Ad Reifsnyder of Strong City was accidently shot in the eye by a small boy. The eye was lost and replaced by a glass one later on.


     Mar. 24 -- L. L. Cochran & Co. has received and installed one of the finest soda fountains.


     Mar. 27 -- New marriage laws passed by the legislature has just went into effect. The license must now bear the name of the consenting party to the proceedings, if the man is under 21 and the woman under 18 years of age.


     Homer Evans and wife have became residents of Buck creek.


     Several doctors of Chase County met and organized the Chase County Medical Society. Present were; Drs. Shelly, Steepe Conaway, Hoover, Kendall, F.T.Johnson senior and junior.
