     Oct. 10, 1905 -- Dr. Robert Walsh was a practicing physican here some time ago died in Canada.

     J. S. H. Barker, died at his son-in-law- James Austin.

     Oct. 13 - D. M. (Tad) Smith and Tillie Holcombe are married. Mr. Smith has been a member of the Smith Bros. and since June was made postmaster of the Falls.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs Wes Pinkston a boy and to Mr. & Mrs Geo. Dawson a boy.

     Oct. 17 -- Thorn Brandley has been hired as a guard in the Kansas Penitentiary at Lansing.

     Oct. 20 -- R. L. Stewart has sold his livery stable to James Coe.

     California hams, 9 cents a pound at Smith Bros.

     Mrs T. H. Grisham is attending the Kansas Equal Suffrage Association at Topeka.

     Oct. 24 -- County Supt. T. G. Allen is arranging with Santa Fe to run a special train from this county to Topeka and back for the benefit of the school children of the county. Round trip only 90 cents.

     Public sale, the Union School District # 4 will offer two school buildings known as the old Hymer, and Woodhull buildings and all belongings.

     Mrs Mary Trich died at the home of her daughter, Mrs M. M. Kuhl.

     Miss Anna Sanders is attending college at Manhattan.

     The new Hymer school is completed.

     Wm. Stone, one of the grandest old men in Toledo township died of dropsy. He leaves a wife, 2 sons and 5 daughters.

     Oct. 27 -- A Sunday school was organized at the Neva school house. The attendance was 26.

     Oct. 31 - Miss Ida Schimpff is teaching the Elk school this term.

     Chase County is dry once more. Druggists who have permits can sell intoxicating liquors for medical purposes only.

     Mr. Smith hopes the electric lights can be turned on Nov. 1st.

     Will Foreman has sold his farm on Bloody creek to the Matti Bros.

     Nov. 3 -- Adoption of Nannie Bake a minor to Charles & Lettie McDowell.

     Born to Mr. & Mrs Harry Starkey, a son.

     The Electric Light Company is placing the poles and wire between here and Strong City.

     Mr. & Mrs Sam Stauffer of Diamond creek celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary.

     Mr. & Mrs J. M. Stone of Saffordville have a new son.

     Nov. 14 -- There will be fifty-three Sundays in this year.

     Clarence Garrison has quit school to work in the Chase County National Bank.

     Chas. L. Dilley, principal of the Matfield schools and Mrs Clara Drury Barrett are married. Clara is a teacher.

     Jessie Lee and Alfred Swenson were married at Cahola.
