     Mar. 23, 1906 -- Will Becker of the Becker Ranch on Rock creek was in the Falls marketing his crop of English blue grass seed.


     Mar. 27 -- The Leader announces the candidacy of Geo. Yeager for sheriff.


     Mar. 30 -- Dr. Kendall will attend the Hahnemann Medical College meeting at Kansas City.


     Pearl Brandley closed a very successful school term at Banks south of Matfield.


     The residents of Buck creek are rejoicing over the prospects of being connected with the outside world by telephone soon.


     Lem Byram is building a fine large barn of rock from the quarry at Clements.


     Apr. 3 -- Mrs E. W. Eastman of Thurman, her father has passed away at Wiggam at the age of 95.


     The Long & Holligan Ice & Coal Co. of Strong City will handle only artificial ice this season.


     E. A. Kinne has received the appointment of adjuntant of the State Soldiers Home at Dodge City.


     Born to Mr. & Mrs James R. Pringle of Middle creek a son.


     Apr. 6 -- Tom Quinn died at his home on Peyton creek of apoplexy, Mr. Quinn was born in Ireland and was 65 years old.


     A son is born to Mr. & Mrs Frank Long of Wonsevu.


     Grimwood Bros. have finished a new store building just east of Cresses store which Mrs Grimwood will use for a millinery shop.


     The people of Strong City are much pleased with the big general store of Carson's.


     Apr. 10 -- Oren Park eight year old son of Mr. & Mrs Willard Park of Clements has died.


     Chase County Leader $1.00 per year.


     The foundation of W. B. Hilton's new residence is completed and the construction of the house will commence.


     Dr. Addison Kendall has been appointed to fill the position on the Cottonwood Falls school board caused by Mr. Kinne's moving.


     Mrs Sherd Morris of Rock creek has died.


     The eight month old daughter of Mr. & Mrs Sam Hilderbrand died at Saffordville.


     Apr. 13 -- Jerry Harris was one of the best known colored men in Chase Co. died at his home on Buck creek. Mr. Harris worked for the Lantry's for years.


     Anna Yenzer just finished a successful year teaching at the Canaan district.


     Wanted -- 100 dozen common pigeons at Riley & Hofmann's Butcher Shop at Strong City.


     Apr. 24 -- Minnie Emma Dawson died leaving a husband Geo. E. Dawson and six childred, the eldest being 9 years of age.
