Apr. 24, 1906 -- Dora & Rufus Ice of Clements are going to attend the county examination this week.
Willard Park of Clements has been permoted to section foreman.
Apr. 27 -- A son arrived at Rocky Glen to Mr. & Mrs John Blagg.
May 1 -- Grandma Catherine Barker died at the home of her son-in-law, James Austin east of Cottonwood Falls. She came to Chase County in 1868
A boy is born to Mr. & Mrs John Crawford.
May 4 -- Rev. Travers married Ralph Wood of Ariz. & Florence Holsinger of the Falls.
Miss Grace Houghton graduated from Kansas City's Agnew Hospital as a trained nurse.
May 8 -- Susie Hungerford is the delegate of the Presbyterian Sunday School to the State Convention.
May 11 -- Miss Ida Schimpff taught at the Elk school this eight month term.
May 18 -- Mrs Rebecca Whitney who formerly lived at Elmdale has died at Emporia.
The new firm, Alford Hardware Co. is starting off well in the implement trade.
Most of Elmdale's sidewalks are all new and made of cement.
Thomas Vincent, an old resident of Chase County passed away of a complication of diseases. He married Sarah Camp in 1873, who survives him. He was a Civil War Veteran.
Officers elected to the Houston Shade Holder Factory are: Pres. & Mgr. C. E. Houston, Vice-President: J. A. Holmes, Sec.: C. T. West, and Treas.; G. A. McNee.
May 22 -- Charles B. Hager of Cottonwood Falls has died. Mr. Hager came to Chase Co. when he was 19. He leaves a wife and nine children.
May 25 -- W. S. Conaway is the new agent for the Santa Fe railroad at the Falls.
Wm. Tietz & Mattie Duncan both of Praire Hill were married by the Rev. Rogers of Matfield.
Wm. LaCross & John Frew have been surveying and laying off the lots in the addition recently made to the cemetery. 812 feet was added to both the east and west sides and about that much to the north side, and it will be enclosed with a heavy woven wire.
Ed Hendrick & Mrs Bertha Bradburn, both of Strong City were quitely married by Judge Houghton.
A baby boy has blessed the home of Mr. & Mrs Bruno Wiechold of Prairie Grove.
June 1 -- Mrs W. J. McNee has died at her home.
June 5 - Elizabeth Springett Mercer was born in Kent, England in 1833. She has passed away at the age of 73 at Homestead. She was married to Alfred Mercer in 1852.
Jas. Dwelle resigned as city councilman at the Falls and T. H. Grisham will replace him .
