     June 8 -- Chase County is experiencing another flood.

     Frank Miller, who was struck over the head with a hoe by Mose Garnett has died.

     Claude Shaft & Etta Green both raised at Clements are married.

     Dr. Steele and family will move to Chanute soon.

     June 12 -- The Strong City depot caught on fire from sparks blowing from an engine. Quite a hole was burned in the roof before it was put out.

     James O'Reilley returned from St. Louis where he has been attending Kenrick Seminary the past year.

     Walter H. Sharp of Elmdale & Gertie Campbell of Elk are married.

     Grace May Judd age 19, who grew up in Chase Co. and married Frank Chesney in 1902 has died.

     June 15 -- John Nichol who served in the Co. B. Regiment, West Virginia Volunteer has died near Matfield.

     Carson W. Judd and Francis Hudson are married.

     A stock company was organized at Elmdale for the purpose of drilling a series of gas wells.

     June 19 -- Sid I. Breese to wed Irene Fleming of Wyoming.

     Frank Franz opened his flour and feed store in Strong City.

     T. H. Grisham has been re-appointed Judge Advocate General of the Kansas Grand Army of the Republic.

     John McDowell has returned from the Agricultural College of Manhattan and will work on his father's farm at Thurman this summer.

     W. H. Deitrich & Mae Crook both of Saffordville are wed.

     Mrs James Dickson has the finest strawberry bed on Middle creek.

     June 22 -- Mrs Goodreau's home made ginger bread, 20 cents a loaf at Smith Bros.

     Work at the Mill -- The foundation for the new elevator was completed and the frame work is now being erected. Chas. Schneider has the contract for the building.

     The smallpox at Toledo is now pretty well under control.

     Carl Duehn is home on furlough from West Point Military Academy where he is a Cadet in the USA.

     June 26 -- Geo. George and Malinda Bandolin are married.

     Sam Arnold, son of Mrs M. J. Arnold has died.

     Ester Holmes will enter the Conservatory at Wichita and devote her time to the study of music.

     Drs. F. T. Johnson & McKinley and Surgeon Robinson of Kansas City performed an operation for appedicitis of Anna Roniger at Prairie Hill.
