     Sept. 25, 1906 -- Ralph Pringle has purchased the lumber & post from the Union School District.

     Wm. Pringle of Middle Creek who has been a resident of there since 1859 has died. Mr. Pringle leaves a wife and ten children.

     Sept. 28 -- A Jesse James tent show will be at Strong City on Sept. 29.

     The gas meters have been received and are being installed at Elmdale.

     Edward C. Whitney of Hymer & Sadie E. Griffin of Strong City are married. Their home will be on the Whitney ranch.

     The Cottonwood Falls Milling Co. are making arrangements to put in a new stone & concrete foundation & facing for the dam.

     Dr. A. F. Meyer has located at Matfield and is building up a good practice.

     Ed Pinnack has completed the arch bridge at Hymer.

     Oct. 2 -- A concert was given at Saffordville by the Miner's band.

     The Cottonwood Falls Mill & Elevator Co., let the contracts for furnishing the material and building the new dam. C. C. McDowell was awarded the contract to furnish the sand, lime & cement and John Shofe got the contract to build the dam.

     Clyde Holmes of Elmdale is in Kansas City to attend Spaulding Business college.

     John Stone died on Sept. 18 at his home in Saffordville.

     The Milling Co. have all their new machinery installed and are ready to grind all kinds of feed. The mill is making two car-loads of the "Celebrated Pride of Kansas" flour for a big Kansas City firm.

     The Electric Light Co. have all of the street lights up and will be ready to light up the city as soon as the lamps for same arrive. There are fifteen lights with the power of fifty candle power each.

     Oct. 9 -- Fred Shipman died under mysterious circumstances.

     Oct. 12 -- Mrs Ada Campbell died at her home on Middle Creek, leaving an infant son. Mrs Campbell was one of Chase County's best teachers. She married S. R. Campbell in April of 1905.

     Oscar Duehn's new 8 room home is completed. Built by Wm. Newlee.

     Messrs. W. H. Wilcox, J. J. Cahoone, Henry Buffalo, and Jas. Harder, of Spring creek, are building phone lines which will connect them to the Falls.

     Oct. 16 -- The new rooms on the first floor of the high school building are almost complete. One room will be the principal's office and the other used for the commercial work.

     The Strong City Auditorium has changed management under Chas. Harden having leased the building. A skating rink is in the basement.

     Oct. 19 -- Vesta Mason & Frank A. Dwelle are married at the home of Dr. & Mrs W. S. Mason the bride's parents at Wonsevu.

     Edward Sherffius & Blanche Pittman of the Falls are wed.

     Oct. 23 -- Judge Houghton performed a double wedding of of Charles L. Plummer, Saffordville and Minnie B. Golay of Cedar Point, and Eugene Golay & Nellie Plummer.
