Chase County Sketches

1863 - 2003

OLD TRAILS A few marks of the old trails may be seen. The Kaw Trail, passing through the county from north to south (therefore through Cottonwood Falls) join ed the Mormon Trail near Bazaar.

This is almost the same route of the Kansas Prairie Parkway and K 177. The Texas Cattle Trail came by Cottonwood Falls a mile or so to the south.

Chase County Centennial, 1872 - 1972
