Garrison, William F

William F. (Bill) Garrison, 65, of Coffeyville, died in his home Monday, Feb. 23, 2004.

William the son of Frank E. and Eva Mae O'Daniel Garrison, was born Feb. 1, 1939, and raised in Saffordville. He later lived in Cottonwood Falls and Emporia before settling in Coffeyville. He graduated from Toledo Township High School in Saffordville in 1957. He enlisted in the United State Army Reserve 1956 and was Honorably discharged in 1964.

Mr. Garrison was an active member of the Amazing Grace Chapel, Eagles Lodge, American Legion and former member of Moose Lodge all of Coffeyville. He was self-employed throughout most of his life, later retiring and in 1995 dedicating his life to prison ministries, co-founding Agape Prison Ministry Sept. 30, 1997, and becoming an Ordained Minister on Nov 2, 1997.

He is survived by two daughters, Judy Pinckney of South Coffeyville, Okla. and Sandy Davis of Mound Valley; one brother, Carl Garrison of Havana; one sister Marietta Brown of El Dorado; 12 grandchildren; and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Mike Pinckney.

Mr. Garrison's body was donated to KU Medical Center. A Memorial Service was held Feb. 28, 2004, at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Okla. His remains will be put to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville at a later date. The family requests memorials be made to Agape Prison Ministries, PO Box 99, Coffeyville, KS. 67337.
