Parks, Harold "Casey"

Harold "Casey" Parks, 56, died at Morris County Hospital in Council Grove, Oct. 8, 2001. A Celebration of His Life was conducted Wednesday in the Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with Pastor John Bliss officiating. Burial followed in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Strong City.

Harold Lee Parks was born on Nov. 7, 1944, in Strong City to George and Laura Sayre Parks. He married Leila Nurnberg. They divorced. He then married Karen Quinn on March 17, 1988 in Emporia. He was an Assembly Lead Man 19 years for Kansa Corporation in Emporia. Mr. Parks was a Methodist.

Mr. Parks is survived by his wife, of the home; sons, Scott Parks of Saffordville, Kevin Parks of Americus and Eric Parks of Emporia and a step-son Donald Miller of Hugoton; stepdaughter, Deborah Shumate of Overland Park, Diana Newman of Lees Summit, Mo. and Denise Eckermann of Caldwell, mother Laura Parks of Cottonwood Falls; brother, Alfred Parks of Emporia; and sister Su Parks of Cottonwood Falls.

Memorials are suggested to the Morris County Hospital or Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University in care of the funeral home.
