Peak, Olma

Olma Peak, 90, died May 17, 2008, at his home in Emporia.

The son of Claude and Isabelle Atkinson Peak, he was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Lyon County, Kan.

He married Velma Wood at Emporia on April 6, 1941. She survives.

He owned Emporia Livestock Sales in Emporia and was a long-time cattleman. He was a member of the National Cattleman’s Association and Kansas Cattleman’s Association.

He is also survived by two sons, Vic Peak and Scott Peak both of Emporia; two daughters, Ginger Morris and Chrysanne Haselhorst both of Emporia; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ina Wilson, Esther Goodell and May Bryant; and two brothers, Carl Peak and Cliff Peak.

Services were Wednesday, May 21, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Pastor Al Areheart, Twelfth Avenue Baptist Church, Emporia, conducted the service. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private inurnment at the Hillside Cemetery, Toledo.

Memorials may be made to Hand in Hand Hospice or Lyon County 4-H in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
