George M. Stubenhofer Succumbs Unexpectedly
Heart Attack Fatal to Life-Long Resident of Chase County in Kansas, City Hospital Friday.

George M. Stubenhofer, 59, of Strong City, a life-long resident of Chase county, passed away Friday morning at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kans., where he had been a patient since January 9. Mr. Stubenhofer, who had been released to leave the hospital on Saturday, died unexpectedly of a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted at Saint Anthony's Catholic church in Strong City, Monday morning, Jan. 30, at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Father I. J. Rohr was in charge. The pall bearers were Howard Stubenhofer, Jimmy Stubenhofer, David Rettiger, Jack Holmberg, Harold Wiebrecht, and Ernest Davis. Interment was in St. Anthony's cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Croy Funeral Home.

George M. Stubenhofer, a son of George and Nora Stubenhofer, was born December 15, 1897, at Elmdale, Kans., and passed away January 27, 1956. He spent his entire life in Chase county as a farmer and stockman.

Preceding him in death were. his mother and father. He is survived by four sisters, Miss Helen Stubenhofer, Miss Frances Stubenhofer and Mrs. Gertrude Rettiger, of Strong City, and Mrs. Mae Deragisch, of Maupin, Ore.; one brother, Karl Stubenhofer, of Strong City; five nephews, two nieces, other relatives and friends.
