My grandmother, Susie Mae Brown, daughter of Washington W. and Elizabeth Brown married William R. BABB, Jr., in Cedar Vale, Kansas 6 Sep 1901. William was the son of William R. Babb, Sr., and Eliza (FORD) Babb. W. R. Jr., was reported to be the proprietor of the electric light plant of Cedar Vale and also an owner of a tin shop at the time of their marriage. W. R., Jr., and wife Susie also lived for a time in Crawford County. I would like to communicate with anyone having knowledged of the above families, Brown, Babb, Fesler, Ford and their descendants, and also anyone who could expand on the ownership of the light plant and tin shop by William R. I am searching for information on Sarah Cating who moved to Kansas with her son-in-law Lindsey HENDRICKS around 1872. She is buried in the Caneyville Cemetery west of Sedan in Chautauqua County. Her son-in-law, Lindsey Hendricks is buried in the Sedan cemetery along with others of his family. Sarah Cating's daughter, Jane married Thomas L. THOMPSON in Sedan. They later moved near Dexter in Cowley County. Jane and Tom are buried in the Cedar Vale Cemetery.

Looking for information of Wesley Newton Cole, b. Jan 22, 1844 OH or KS. I believe all his children were born in Chautauqua Co. They are: Eva May Cole, b. May 30, 1871; William Wesley Cole, b. 1873; Jesse Theopolis Cole, b. Jul 6, 1876 and Elmer D. Cole, b. 1880. They were all in the Lincoln Co., and Pottawatamie Co., Oklahoma around 1895. Wesley Newton Cole married Myra HOLBROOK who also came from Kansas, b. Jul 6, 1853. Willing to share what information I have.

Seeking obituary or burial information on Sarah Catherine Diehl, born 1850 in Illinois, died in 1880 in Cedar Vale, Chautauqua County. Also looking for obit or burial info on Anna Nora Diehl, born June 10,1880, Cedar Vale, Chautauqua County, died December 22, 1880 in Cedar Vale. Sarah was the wife of Cinly Diehl who moved back to Illinois after the death of his wife and daughter. They had come to Cedar Vale as homesteaders. Any information regarding land records pertaining to homesteaders would be very much appreciated.

Ira Earle b. Mar 22, 1847 d. Dec 25, 1916 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery at Sedan, Chautauqua Co., Kansas his father was Samuel Earl b. 1815 Trumbull Co., Ohio and died in 1890 Chase Co., Kansas. Samuel's wife was Nancy CAMPBELL b. 1824 d. 1876 Kansas. Ira's wife was Agnes BANKS or Anna A. b. Feb 5, 1887 d. May 31, 1948 and is buried at Greenwood Cemetery. Her father was Frank Banks. There is another Earle buried at the Cemetery. His name is George Earle b. Feb 5, 1887 d. May 31, 1949 WW I veteran. We would like any information on this family and would like to find out if George Earle was one of their children. We have a great deal of information on the Earl - Earle family and are glad to share. Also any information on Ira's wife's family would be appreciated.

KETCHUM, Asa Calkins Sun Sep 21, 1997
Civil War 'Home Guard' Colonel; Judge Asa Calkins Ketchum (1821-1881), migrated (from Ft. Smith, AR) to Neodesha, Wilson Co., KS abt 1880 and purchased a house in Neodesha. His third wife, Lillie (BURTON) Ketchum (1872-1924) and their children were with him: Minnie (1875, MO), Elizabeth (1877, MO), David Seneca (1878-1879, bur Empire City, KS); Hester Euphemia, b 26 Dec 1880 Neodesha, Wilson Co., KS. Col. Asa Ketchum was sickly and went to Chautauqua Springs, KS for his health and died there in 1881. No record/stone was found in Oak Hill Cem, Chautauqua. Where was he buried? Could it have been in Neodesha? If so, what cemetery? Any info appreciated.

Widow Lillias Jacinth (BURTON) Ketchum, after the death of her husband, Asa C. Ketchum, in Chautauqua Springs, KS (residence in Neodesha, Wilson Co., KS) in 1881, married George R. McCorkell (Civil War vet from IN) on 7 Nov 1883 in Cherokee Co., KS. They resided near Scammon, Crawford Co., KS between 1883-95, before moving to Joplin, MO. Any info appreciated.
