From: Jerome Lundgren marjer@snip.net
Date: Wednesday, December 08, 1999 08:48 PM

In my great great grandmothers obit, who died in 1924, it stated her only brother Peter Becklin from Crestline KS was at her side when she died. Her only brother that we have been able to trace was a Pehr Olof, b. 1849 in Amot, Sweden.

This is a missing link in our family tree. Is there any information out there re Peter Becklin?

I grew up in Baxter Springs, and a Milo Chew had a drug store there in the 1950's. You might try that name and work back from there. Janice Brown O'Brien

Topic: correction on Hopkins
From: Jinny Martin whitedaisy29@yahoo.com
Date: Saturday, December 04, 1999 06:51 PM

I would like to make a correction on my last posting regarding Hopkins. The picture i am looking for is of Floyd Hopkins. His children left on the Lewis and Clark trail in 1881 not on the Oregon trail in 1870. It is believed that the picture was in the possession of Jeff or Perry. One of the two of them had a son named Frank Hopkins. The last person to have the picture was Frank who died between 1935-1939. Any link of any sort even as insignificant as it may seem please respond in some way. Thank you

Topic: Sherman Cemetery
From: Francis Wise macmhuirich@email.msn.com

I'm looking for a cemetery supposedly in Sherman. In a letter from Emma Frances WISE, in speaking of her grandfather, George Washington WISE, she says, "Later he died while visiting a daughter at Sherman, Kansas and is buried in the little cemetery there." Later she recounts, "Aunt Nancy and her husband (Avery WALTON) are buried in the little cemetery at Sherman, Kansas where grandpa is. My older brother (Cortes Elmer WISE) is buried there, too..." If you know where this "little cemetery" is, or if you have tombstone transcriptions, I'd very much like to hear from you.
