Robert Holcomb died in Pitcher, OK, 1932-1940. Possibly buried in Cherokee Co., KS due to no cemeteries at Pitcher that I am aware of. Does anyone have a cemetery book who could look this up? Does anyone have any ideas on where to search for his grave?

Topic: BACKLIN, MAURITZ from Ockelbo, Sweden
From: Jerome Lundgren marjer@snip.net
Date: Sunday, March 05, 2000 01:57 PM

Peter Backlin (at the time) emigrated to US in 1888 with wife Wilhelmina and sons Olof Emil and Carl Peter Mauritz. My great grandmothers obit in 1924 stated Peter (her brother) was from Crestline, Kan. He was born 27-12-1849 probably in mot and was originally named Pehr Olof Olsson. He took the name of BŠcklin in Sweden (from a benefactor). My guess is that he was either a farmer or worked for a railroad. Due to the location of Crestline this may have been an address and he actually resided in a different county. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on Laura Henson, daughter of Abner Freeland Henson and Winnie Keturah White, born in Illinois in the 1870's, she may have been married to a Wheeler from the Girard, Pittsburg area. She also may have gone to Michigan and died in that state. All of this is "may have", seeking confirmation on family legends. Thank you. email wcorp@ckt.net.

Topic: Noble Family in Galena, Cherokee County, Kansas
From: James Johnson doublej@penn.com
Date: Friday, March 03, 2000 07:15 AM

I have an ancestor, Albert Jackson Noble, who settled in Galena, Kansas, with his son Earnest Wheeler Noble. Albert was born 9/30/1816 in New York City and died in Galena Kansas 9/19/1883. We have a copy of what looks like a line drawing of Albert like you'd see in one of the County History or local history publications. Would anyone know about the family or have access to a book for a lookup?

Thanks!

Jim Johnson
