Topic: Lago, 1873-1890 in Cherokee

Jeremiah (Jerry) David LAGO (Canadian born) and his family arrived in Cherokee some time in 1874. Four children attended schools there. He probably was a charter member of many organizations such as the I.O.O.F. Society... does anyone have "hand me down" record sources or stories of that time period and area? I have Cutler's History material. We would also like to communicate with any LAGO or CRAYS descendants from that area. They may have been involved in both Crawford and Cherokee counties.

From: Maureen Harte moharte@earthlink.net
Date: Thursday, September 14, 2000 12:27 PM

I am looking for information regarding my grandparents:
Charles Edward Jones, born 11 November 1862 in NY, lived in Missouri until the time of the 1900 census, where he and his wife and children are listed as living in Cherokee County. His wife was Mary Ellen Cleary Jones, born 24 December 1865 in MO. Charles died 26 October 1926 in Galena and is buried at Oakhill Cemetery. Mary Ellen died 9 December 1918 and is also buried at Oakhill. I need to know the names of their parents who were born in Ireland according to the 1900 census records. Can anybody help?
