OLD SETTLER BURIED TODAY

Mrs. Mary A. Fuller Had Been Married 66 years

Mrs. Mary A. Fuller a resident of Cherokee county since 1874, died at 9:35 pm o'clock Saturday night after a week's illness with pneumonia at the home of her son Elon G. Fuller, North Minnesota Avenue. The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the home under the conduction of Rev. W.S.Smalley.

Mrs. Fuller is survived by her husband, James H. Fuller, and four children: Mr. Myrtle Brown of El Dorado, Lester J. Fuller of El Dorado, Levi C. Fuller of Kansas City, MO, Elon G. Fuller of Columbus. Mrs. Jessie Hoover, a granddaughter from Corpus Cristi, Tex., came to attend the funeral. In the passing of Mrs. Fuller, Columbus loses one of its oldest settlers. When the town was in its infancy Mr. and Mrs. Fuller came here and settled on the present Tuttle place. James Fuller was a farmer at that time and has been up to the time of his retirement. He is eighty-nine years old at present and his wife was eighty-eight. They had been married sixty-six years, on of the longest and most beneficent periods of married life in the state of Kansas. "I never heard my mother and father speak a single cross word to each other," said Levi Fuller this morning.

Mrs. Fuller was born near Penn Yan, New York, Sept. 2, 1823.

Her name before her marriage was Mary Ann Bonney. She was married to James H. Fuller Oct 24, 1844 and afterwards settled in Washtenaw county, Michigan. In 1869 Mr. and Mrs. Fuller and their children moved to Newton county Missouri leaving in 1874 for the little village which has since grown into Columbus. Burial of the remains was made in the Columbus cemetery this afternoon.
