Absalom Wood Obituary.

 

  Absalom Wood was born in Virginia, April 12, 1822 and died at his home on Hudson street, this city, February 28, 1911, at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 16 days.  Mr. Wood was married four times, and leaves a wife and six children to mourn his departure.  The children are:  John and William of McCloud, Okla.; Benjamin of Pittsburg, Okla.; Frederick of Moreland, Ind.; Mrs. Ola Ayres of Gelena, Kans., and Eliza of Fall River, Kans.  Mr. Wood became a Christian about twenty-two years ago, belonging to the Christian church at Clay Center, Kans.  Mr. Wood was a private in company “K” Regiment, Iowa Volunteer Cavalry.  He has born his affliction for many years as a result of his devotion to the Union of the nation.  He came to Burlington about fifteen years ago.

  The funeral was held at the Christian church Thursday afternoon in charge of L. M. Wiles, minister of the Christian church.
