A. H. Britton died at his home in Koshkonong, Mo., Saturday, Aug. 15, 1914, of dropsy of the heart, after an illness extending over several months. The body was shipped here, arriving Monday afternoon over the Missouri Pacific, and was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Patrick. The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon by Rev.Borgeson, of the M. E. church, and interment was made in Waverly cemetery.

Mr. Britton was born at Hillsdale, Mich., and at the time of his death was 67 years and 19 days of age. He served during the war of the Rebellion in Co. C., 2d Michigan Sharpshooters. He came to Waverly in 1895, and lived on a farm in Rocky Run neighborhood until 1908 when he went to Koshkonong, Mo., where he made his home the rest of his days.

Mr. Britton is survived by his wife and a large family of children and grandchildren. The children are J. H. Britton of Solomon, Kansas, Mrs. H. Tompkins of Agricola, Kas., Fred and Howard Britton and Mrs. Elmer Patrick of Waverly, Kas., Mrs. Ed. Grotz of Beloit, Kas., and John Britton of Missouri.

Mr. Britton and the family have a large circle of friends in this community that will be grieved to learn of his death. He was a man of kindly heart and a good neighbor.
