ARMY NURSE, DEAD

She Was With Army of the Cumber-

land in the Civil War.

  Mrs. Elvina Kelley, wife of Woodson H. Kelley, died at her home, 118 West Seventh street at 12:25 o’clock this morning.  The funeral services will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon.  They will be conducted by Dr. B. F. Gaither, pastor of the Methodist church.

  Mrs. Kelley was an army nurse for the Union forces during the Civil War.  She enlisted for such service under Major McDermott with the Army of the Cumberland field hospital.

  She and her husband, who is also a Civil war veteran had been married seventy years Wednesday of this week.  She was 86 years of age and had been ill six weeks.

  Besides her husband she leaves a son Ora Kelley of Sunnyside the southwestesn suburb and two grandchildren; Mrs. Harry Webb of Thayer and Bruce Kelley of 509 N. Central avenue.

  Edward Kelley, her elder son, died suddenly of heart trouble January 13 last.  At that time her husband was very ill.  He is now able to be about.
