INTERESTING PHOTOS OF THE MONTH 

I have been to hundreds of Cemeteries in Kansas and have thousands

of photographs of tombstones of gentlemen who fought in a war that truly shaped

our country.  Here are a few interesting photos from them.

DIED:  JULY 1, 1911

BURIED:  FORT SCOTT NATIONAL CEMETERY.

SERVICE:  CAPTAIN IN 7TH OHIO CAVALRY

GRANNY COWDEN

BURIED:  IOLA CEMETERY, IOLA, KS.

SERVICE:  UNKNOWN

I HAVE NOT FOUND HER STORY YET BUT WOULDN'T BE GREAT TO KNOW.  THE LOCAL GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC RESPECTED HER WITH A G. A. R. STAR NEXT TO HER GRAVE.

 

 

 

CAPTAIN EDWARD N. REQUA

BURIED:  SUNNYSIDE CEMETERY, CANEY, KS.

SERVICE:  COL. HUNTER'S REG. RAINES BRIG. PRICE'S ARMY

BATTLES:  WILSON CREEK, DRY WOOD, LEXINGTON, LONE JACK, AND OTHERS.  ON PRICE'S LAST RAID  IN MISSOURI, HE WAS CAPTURED AT SPRINGFIELD, HELD PRISONER THERE TILL THE CLOSE OF THE WAR.
