Dr. B. F. Gaither of the First Methodist church, will officiate at the funeral, assisted by Rev. Charles A. Wilson, the Presbyterian minister.

Mr. Light was 81 years old.  He was born in New Richmond, O., November 2, 1836, and lived in Ohio until 15 years old, when he moved to Indiana.  He joined the Methodist church when he was 18 years old.

On November 22, 1864, he married Alice Archer of Scott county, Indiana.  They lived in Jeffersonville, Ind., three years, moving to Kansas in 1870, locating on a farm in this county.  They remained there until 1889,when they moved to Chanute, where they have since resided.

Mr. and Mrs. Light were the parents of four children, all of whom are living.  They are Harry L. Light of Kansas City, Mrs. S. P. Deer of El Paso, Tex., and Mrs. J. P. Shepard and Mrs. H. M. Squier, both of Chanute.

Besides his wife and children Mr. Light is survived by five brothers, Dr. J. H. Light of this city, W. I. Light of Erie, C. M. Light of  Tampa, Fla., D. W. Light of Los Angeles, Calif., and G. B. Light of Willow Springs, Mo.
