Funeral Services From Home of

Daughter, 1421 South Highland,

Tomorrow Afternoon.

 

  J. H. Kimmey died at 6 o’clock last evening of heart trouble at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. J. Hutchinson, 1121 South Highland avenue, after an illness lasting five weeks.  The funeral services, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the residence of his daughter, conducted by the Rev. E. A. Blackman, pastor of the Christian church, and burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.

  Mr. Kimmey was born in Delaware, May 23, 1842, and came to Kansas in 1880, moving to Chanute from his farm near here twenty-five years ago.  He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, belonging to Company F, Ninth Delaware infantry.  He was also a member of the A. O. U. W. lodge.  Mrs. Kimmey died in October, 1911.

  He is survived by three children, six grandchildren and one brother.  The children are Mrs. E. J. Hutchinson of this city, W. M. Kimmey of Erie and Mrs. W. W. Hanks of Sterling, Kas.  The grandchildren are Virgil, Reevel, and Allen, the children of W. M. Kimmey; Ernestine, the daughter of Mrs. Hutchinson; Miss Gertrude Kimmey, the daughter of Al. Kimmey, who died last summer, and Joseph, the son of Mrs. Hanks.  The brother is Charles L. Kimmey, who lives in Lewis, Del., but will be unable to attend the funeral.
