THOROUGHMAN

 

  W. W. Thoroughman was born in Fountain county, Indiana, December 2, 1845, and passed away August 2, 1912 at his home.  Mr. Thoroughman grew to manhood in Indiana, and at the age of 18 he inlisted in the army and served until wounded.  He came to Kansas in 1867, and was united in marriage April 30, 1871 to Mary Bently, of Little Sandy.  To this union were born four children, one dying in infancy, one at seven and one at 14 years of age.  Ernest is living at Yates Center.

  Mr. Thoroughman was a kind father, a loving husband and a good neighbor.

  About 40 years ago he united with the Christian church at Little Sandy in a meeting held by Rev. Winberley.

  Funeral services were held at the home near Mapleton, Saturday, August 4, 1912 at 1 o’clock, conducted by Rev. A. L. Ragsdale and interment was made in the Yates Center cemetery.
