Jones

My name is Fred Samuel Jones, ggs of Daniel Coleman Jones of the Key West Joneses, not the Lebo Joneses. I've been working on genealogical research in about 12 familes -- in some of them for 20+ years.
I was born in the Prairie View vicinity south west of Waverly -- raised in Gridley -- and I know lots of the folks at the Museum and Library in Burlington.
I'm related to Homer Dotson and generally visit Homer and Iona when I get to Coffey County, and I will be talking to Dixie Lee Potter about a Jones-George connection. I am a member of the Coffey County Genealogical Society and the Coffey County Historical Society.
Here is a picture of me at my desk. Fred Jones

I have established a personal web page on the descendants of a James McMonigle & Osse Jacobs os Southwestern Pennsylvania through five children who grew to adulthood, married, and had children. Four of these five children would make Harrison County, Indiana their home at one time or another. Some of their descendants migrated to Coffey County, Kansas at various times. This web site has 8 surnames with Coffey County connections. The reader is encouraged to visit this site and determine if they are related to or familiar with any of the family lines involved.

Here is a file on my Coffey County Relatives that lived in Lebo, Kansas. The first part of the story is about their lives in Iowa. They moved to Coffey County after 1900. My gr-grandmother was a midwife around the Lebo area and attended the Lebo Methodist Church. I am Peggy Lynn (Coyle) O'Neill, granddaughter of Leola Wilson who married Owen E. Marshall. Leola Wilson is the daughter of Mary Lourinda Moore and Shepard Wilson. Mary Lourinda Moore was the daughter of Richard and Emma Moore.
