Obituary of ELIJAH GIRKEY |
ELIJAH GIRKEY Elijah Girkey, another aged citizen of Comanche-co., died at 10 o'clock a.m. on last Wednesday, June 15, at his home three miles north of Wilmore. He had been in a weakened condition for some time, due to old age. We have been unable to learn of the exact time and place of his birth, but his age was not far from 90. Mr. Girkey came with his family to this county seven or eight years ago. For awhile he lived a few miles east of Coldwater, but later moved to the vicinity of Wilmore where he continued to live. He was an honest, hard working man and was considered a good citizen and neighbor by all. John T. Six is a stepson of the deceased. Interment was made yesterday in the Coldwater cemetery. |
