MRS. E. A. WASSON DIES.
Funeral Services Were Held Here Yesterday.

Mrs. Zela Emogene Wasson, 35, wife of Emmett Arthur Wasson, died at 5:47 o'clock Sunday morning in a Topeka, Kans., hospital. She resided at 805 North Second street.

She was born March 5, 1908 in Sedan, Kans., and was married to E. A. Wasson in Independence, Kans., December 30, 1927. She came here with her husband in 1932.

Mrs. Wasson was an active member of the First Methodist church and the Prasso Sunday school class. She was a charter member of the Modern Mothers' Study club and active in the J. U. club. She had quite a splendid voice and was active in musical circles, especially the Margie Hunt Choral club and the Arkansas City Music and Dramatics club. During the last year she successfully handled the collections for a national magazine agency.

Mrs. Wasson is survived by her husband; one daughter Miss Barbara Jean Wasson, 12; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Doty of Cedar Vale, Kans.; three sisters, Mrs. Vera Alford of Augusta, Kans., Mrs. Clara McCuistion of Riverton, Kans., and Miss Armena Doty of Cedar Vale; two brothers, Paul Doty of Portland, Ore., and Thomas M. Doty, Jr., of Sedan; 11 nieces and seven nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Forrest E. Rohl officiated.

Vocal music was provided by Mrs. Roy Rogers who sang, "In the Garden" and "Ave Maria." She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Brainard Newberry. Those who served as pallbearers are: Foster Tipton, Cecil Nichols, Dennis Shaw, Charles E. Shirley, Eugene Waltrip and O. J. Smith. Interment was in Riverview cemetery.

Wasson, Mrs. Ruth Estes and son, Howard, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Foltz, Mrs. Effie Foltz, all of Peru, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Ott Brewster, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brewster, Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Doty, Jr., Mrs. Paul Doty, all of Sedan, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. George McCuistion, Riverton, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. John Alford and daughter, Lida Mae, Augusta; Mrs. Frank Ableson, Kansas City, Mo.; and Mr. and Mrs. John Nation and daughter, Nancy Jane, Chaflin, Kans.
